Na początku XX wieku na terenach panowali Brytyjczycy, którzy na obszarze Kenii i Ugandy utworzyli Brytyjską Afrykę Wschodnią. To właśnie z czasów osadnictwa przybyszów z Wielkiej Brytanii pochodni np. linia kolejowa łącząca Kenię z Ugandą.
3.09.2008r - niespodziewanie w środkowej Kenii spadł śnieg, wzbudził ogromne zainteresowanie mieszkańców, którzy po raz pierwszy zobaczyli to zjawisko "na żywo".
